I stumbled into The Village Retail today and was pleasantly greeted by Zuri. Not only did they inform me of all the deals and specials in the store at the time, the aura, energy and space felt so welcoming. I did choose to purchase the “Nobody is Self-Made” book by the owner, Lakeysha Hallmon — as i was advised it’s a good read. So I’d definitely recommend anyone of all walks of life to visit, it’ll be worth your time.

I normally don’t post negative reviews, but I am very disappointed by my experience. I visited on a Tuesday evening. The posted business hours state that the store is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. I arrived at approximately 8:00 p.m., only to be told by the attendant that the store was already closed. If the store actually stops serving customers at 8:00 p.m., that should be clearly communicated by updating the posted hours. I drove 1 hour and 30 minutes specifically to visit this location, so this was extremely frustrating. This experience was unacceptable and did not reflect the level of professionalism I expected. I hope the business updates its hours or ensures customers can rely on the posted operating times to avoid this happening to others.

Stepping into The Village Retail at Ponce City Market felt like entering a vibrant, curated space full of energy and heart. I visited with my husband, and from the moment we walked in, the team (Yolanda and Whitney) made us feel so welcome. They were not only helpful and attentive but genuinely interested in getting to know us. We shared the story of how we met and our journey together, and they lit up. It felt like catching up with old friends rather than shopping with strangers. The variety of vendors was incredible. From beautifully crafted candles and skincare to stylish clothing and accessories, every corner was filled with thoughtfully curated finds. I ended up purchasing the cutest jumpsuit (shown in the photos), versatile enough to wear to work and effortlessly chic for brunch with friends. It instantly became a favorite in my wardrobe. Another reason I’ll be returning often is that they receive new inventory every week. Whether you're looking for a unique gift or just browsing for yourself, there’s always something fresh and exciting to discover. The Village Retail is more than a shopping destination. It’s a celebration of community, creativity, and authentic connection.

Zuri was the absolute best. He gave me run down of the therapy with me candle co. assortment and when I tell you he knows all about it! Made my day and now my house will be smelling AMAZING!! His energy and excitement is infectious! Keep it up Zuri
