As soon as we walked in, we could tell that the atmosphere was great. The bartenders and waitstaff were smiling and in a great mood. Our waiter was Corell. Outstanding service and very friendly and knowledgeable. He was very attentive and made a need to remember. We ordered drinks a watermelon Mojito, a guava Mojito and an old-fashioned all made to perfection. Tasted delicious and smooth. We had an order of the catfish in buffalo sauce and a seafood gumbo bowl. Sides we had honey cornbread, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and cajun rice. All the food came out hot, nicely plated, and worth the wait. Like their signs and T-shirts said they make great food not fast food and it showed! Everything definitely tasted like it was made fresh to order and with a lot of love. We’ll definitely be coming back and trying different dishes and drinks. 10/10

First time year and it was definitely a vibe!!! The customer service from start to finish amazing from the lovely ladies in back bartenders and Mr Corell was the perfect host and server providing great customer service from start to finish!! Food was seasoned to perfection! The Honey Sauced Catfish, Fried Pork Chops, and Smothered Porkchops sampled between my spouse and I . With a side a greens, yams, Mac and cheese, rice and gravy, honey cornbread !! Phew chile a time was had this evening sharing laughs and singing to the jams playing in the background! This place is a must and DO NOT forget to try their drinks!! Let’s just say you will not be disappointed for the price and amount given! No we did not eat everything and we had to pack up to go!!!

We came to Milwaukee from Chicago on a Thursday night to see Nate Jackson! We wanted some good grub so we did a quick google search and pondered on the car! The name caught us first then the menu! We pull up greeted by Ciara! Very sweet, patient and helpful. We ordered drinks (Hennessy sidecar) 🔥. It was a group of 4. We all loved our drinks. Next we all ordered. Catfish fillets, fried wings, turkey chops in gravy! FIRE, fresh and hot!! Now the sides… Mac and cheese was amazing only dislike was it wasn’t hot like other sides. I would have taken it zapped in microwave for a minute. Just so we could see the sauce move. Collards, SEASONED TO PERFECTION, YAMS sweet but not all that cinnamon and nutmeg…’they had a lil thick slurry at bottom of cup. Fire. Others had cabbage that was good and spaghetti. We all wanted DRESSING. It was sold out!! We knew that ish was good. Overall 10/10 food, service, drinks were amazing!! Some of the best soul-food from a restaurant I’ve had. One time for Milwaukee

I ordered to go. I ordered the soul food cup. The food was well seasoned, but me and my fat arms knows what could be better. My problem with the cup is the serving arrangement. It's not great. Y'all put the juicy/runny items on top! So all the juice and cheese from the greens and macaroni ran down on the dressing! The greens were also full of cheese. It wasn't horrible, but the cheese sauce is a little too thin. It's not baked macaroni like black folks used to most often prepare so that was a little disappointing. It's cheesy sauce macaroni which I still mess with, but if it's going to be a cheese sauce; then the sauce needs to be thicker so that the sauce doesn't run. Also, I'm disappointed that the dressing is swimming in a combination of all the juices! Visually - this is unpleasant to look at because the juices are running so badly and none of these except the greens are meant to be juicy or running. So I'm not satisfied, but I hope y'all will take my suggestion and try to arrange that cup differently. Greens on the bottom. Then the Dressing. Then the macaroni. Then the yams on top. That might stop the greens juice from running everywhere. Lastly, the greens were tough and y'all also put tough stems in the greens which is a big mama NO NO. When we folks make our greens in the summer - you have to remember - summer greens tend to be tough. You gotta put a spoonful or more of baking soda in them greens to tenderize them. That's how you get the tendernism out of greens. I learned that from somebodies momma and it has always worked for me. Fall greens are naturally tender after the cold snaps and the frost falls on them. Also the greens got a after taste too them. Kind of metallic? So maybe revisit how y'all are washing them. Ok? Now I'm not gate keeping, and I'm trying to give this advice lovingly. But please apply what you learned so I can come back and eat real REAL good next time. We need every Soul food restaurant to do good and stay open so that we can eat good, and then I won't have to personally stand up at the stove and fix my own greens and dressing! I ain't got the time for that no more!

I had such a great experience thanks to our server Corell! He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The food came out perfectly, and he checked in at all the right times. Professional, efficient, and genuinely kind, exactly what great service should look like. I would definitely come back and ask for him again! The frozen lemon drop and the food was amazing!
