I was MOVED by this dining experience. The food was so delicious I wanted to dance. Flavorful, crispy, well balanced. I got the chicken and beignet waffles and fried green tomatoes with a side of Brussels sprouts. The service was excellent, my waitress was sweet and homely. I was lucky to meet the chef who was welcoming and warm. My new favorite spot in the city. Bring all your family and friends!

It’s gluten free and I like that. I’m lactose intolerant as well and their wasn’t too many options that were both gf and DF. They did try to accommodate though so I give some credit there. It’s pricey for you get. For that reason, I’m out. I left complaining. My catfish skillet, although tasty, was served in a black plastic bowl. Pro: 1. the decor. It’s much nicer than I thought would be. Definitely lots of intentional in setting up a nice scene to dine. 2. Delicious southern/soul food options that’s gluten free. Cons 1. too pricey. My skillet was $30!! 2. This is subjective but our server was not good. Several issues there 3. They include an automatic 20% gratuity and the end which is fine but it would have been nice to told that ahead of time to keep from over tipping basically tipping 40% on top of the expensive bill. That’s sneaky and not a good practice. Overall, it’s fine. The food is good. The vibe is right. Our service and the bill stuff at the end left a bad taste in our mouth.

We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday because she has celiac disease and this a completely gluten free spot, and we enjoyed it so much! Food was hot and delicious and service was great! Birthday girl even got a complimentary glass of prosecco!

Great Service! Food was delicious beyond good. We order 4 different meals and they all were Hit. About $75 pp for meal, drink and gratuity. We'll worth it. Loved the atmosphere and music!

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! I came here Sunday 3/15 12pm brunch reservations to celebrate my uncles bday. I had heard of this place by friends and on social media. Not sure what changed since we had nothing similar of an experience we thought we would have. We sat and waited for almost 45 mins before we even got water or were acknowledged by a waiter( I don’t fault the waiter bc she was alone, trying her best) . I had a party of 5 and the seating was so cramped we were touching backs with the people behind us…we had to adjust and some sat on end of the table! Then we put in our order of food and drinks, it took another 30 mins before we got our drinks, so when I saw them finally being made I went to help out the waiter by going to get them myself from the bar. Then we ordered our food and were also disappointed. I ordered the catfish skillet and it wasn’t 2 filets…it was more like catfish pieces/nuggets, flavor was bland. I had the peach cobbler waffles and the waffle was so tough, I couldn’t cut it with the fork and once it cooled down it was too hard to eat…my uncle had the chicken filet with his meal and it was also more like chicken fingers but had no flavor and was dry. The side waffle came with a bunch of stuff on it although not listed on the menu. We thought we would be able to eat it with butter and syrup but it had some type of fruity purée and powdered sugar. Those waffles also got super hard and tough to eat. The Lox wasn’t what was expected, (lox is usually not cooked) but it (salmon) came in a strange fried ball with a weird texture. Not even sure how to describe it, but the menu didn’t do a good job of explaining what it was we actually ordered. My uncle also ordered a Bloody Mary and there was no garnish or anything like most are served, it was underwhelming. The people around us shared same sentiments. I hate to even write this review because I wanted to like this place and had high hopes…but hopefully they will address the shortcomings. The staff was nice, and apologized for our experience. So sad we even had this type of experience! :(
