Food with Soul and Service with even more soul. Mary B was my food expert and guided my journey. I walked from my hotel in search for some flavor that was in the neighborhood. I am a tough soul food critic and chef myself, but I can't explain how AMAZING this food is. The Fried Deviled Eggs - perfect crisp and flavor, not to salty and the bacon makes the dish (must try), couldn't decide between the fried chicken and the oxtail soni got both. Oxtails are NOT sweet as they describe on the menu, they are savory and impressive, I had to order an extra side of the gray because it was so amazing (I soaked my chicken after I ate the skin with their homemade hot sauce), the chick had flavor to its core, the brine had the meat juicy and seasoned to perfection. Tough feid chix critic. MUST TRY. Not everybody can cook greens but these were straight from the soul, vinegar and savory perfect blend. MUST TRY. I will be back when I travel. Memorable food and service. That homemade hot sauce was amazing as well. Well done Fixins Kicthen

I stopped by Fixins before heading to LAX as I had a bit of time to kill and had a hankering for some soul food. I wasn’t sure what to expect since this is a celebrity restaurant, but I’m glad I stopped by! I ordered the two-piece fried chicken plate with two sides—I chose okra and collard greens. It comes with complimentary cornbread and what I believe is a blueberry butter. I also ordered a Diet Coke. The chicken was really good. Crispy on the outside without too heavy of a batter, and super juicy on the inside. They also noticeably season the batter, and with the Fixins in-house hot sauce on it the chicken really smacked! The okra and collard greens were both pretty good, too. Not the best of either dish that I’ve ever had in my life, but definitely above average in terms of flavor, texture, and overall cook. The cornbread and blueberry butter were also pretty solid. The interior and atmosphere kind of reminds me of a Chili’s type setup, or a BJ’s, but the vibes inside from the staff and patrons are good. If you’re looking for some good soul food in the heart of LA, Fixins is a pretty solid choice.

We had just arrived in LAX and were just exploring the area. We were hungry and looked up some options and came across Fixins! We were NOT disappointed to stumble across this soul food spot!! We had an excellent experience!! Our server Joshua was amazing and made great suggestions! Everything he recommended was 👩🏾‍🍳😘!! We all enjoyed a wonderful meal and he just helped to set the mood off right for our family vacation!! If we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be stopping by Fixins again!

We ordered the oxtail with candied yams and the chicken and waffles with thigh meat. I tried my friend's chicken which was super crispy and juicy. The oxtail was good too but a bit salty so definitely pairs with the rice. The yams were not bad too.

I took myself her for Mother’s Day. I ordered fried chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens with biscuit, a cocktail, and banana pudding. I like the merch cabinet! There was a wait but since I dined solo, there was no wait. The floor manager was attentive and helped me get a seat in less than 5 minutes without me asking. The food was delicious. The collard greens and biscuit were my favorite. The chicken wasn’t Southern style (its origin) and the crust fell off in thick crumbles. The chicken was flavored properly and moist but a little pink at the bone. The mac and cheese had a nice flavor and was creamy. The banana pudding was okay. The bananas were not ripe. Side portions were disappointing. The sides were about 3-4 bites worth, and the chicken was a huge portion. I like how I was able to get double thighs. My Spiked Palmer was tasty and smooth. I enjoy the taste of a perfectly made cocktail; however, I know the alcohol portion was very low (
